Post-installed elevator projects have grown significantly in recent years response to the problem of insufficient vertical traffic capacity existing buildings, but research on seismic performance post-installed structures has been relatively limited. This study takes a 26-story-frame shear wall structure as an example. The characteristics this before and after installation elevators were analyzed. In order optimize design scheme structure, further analyzed how factors such standard height shaft frame, location, way is connected affect structure. results show that small impact building can slightly reduce addition, stiffness will be reduced, its increased increased, construction cost reduced. location greater elevator. minimal when it arranged near building.
